Lake Bird Lake is one of the prettiest and most picturesque places in Austin. It offers great views of the city skyline, and trees and trails surround the shore. The Lake is also part of the Colorado River, and it is full of local history. How did Austin come to be where it is? How did Sixth Street come to be the most famous Street in Texas? How did Austin become so hip? The answers to these questions begin with the waters of Town Lake. Join us on a tour from Barton Springs, around the lake and through downtown and learn about the rich history of Austin and its river.
